Down Right Creepy!!

I got a phone call from the National Order of Police Officers. At least I think that is what she said. She kept calling me by my name, not Mrs. Terry but Angela. Does this lady know me? Have I talked to her before? Have I requested her to call me by my first name?? It was just creepy. As she keeps going on with her speal, she keeps using my first name. I said I wasn't interested and then she used it again. So I cut her off and told her that using my first name was creepy and she didn't know me well enough to do so. She kind of laughed and I said bye. Is is so much to ask for a total stranger not to call me by my first name? Serving at Dalton's I tell the patrons my first name. I don't mind if they use it to ask me a question or get my attention- I told them my name. But I think it is just a little weird to have a strange phone solicitor call me by my first name.

Family Photo and the Wonderful World of Technology

Every year I get with my sister and we do our family photo. Some years we plan ahead and do it in the fall. Some years we are in the snow and it is already December. This year we got it done in November. Not early but not too late. In past years I would go to Walmart buy a roll of film for my sister's camera and then we would go take the whole roll of film of pictures. I would then go back to Walmart and get them developed in 1-hour. Then I would choose the picture, go back to Walmart and have them developed. Oh the process. If I was busy this process took a good couple of weeks to do. Choosing the picture was the hardest.

Ohh the wonderful world of technology. Last Christmas my sister got a D-SLR. So this year was a completely different process. We did 3 poses. We were able to see the pictures right away to see if they would work. We could tweek the colors, lighting, crop it. The pictures were emailed to me. I took them to Walmart and in 1-hour had my family pictures. I like our family picture this year and best of all the wonderful world of technology allowed me to take only ONE trip to Walmart.

Halloween Fun
Oct 29 & 31, 2007

Chloe, Brooke, Phoebe & Race on the tractor bed
getting ready to go down to the pumpkin patch at the Big Red Barn in Santaquin.

Choosing the "most perfect" pumpkin "all by myself". We walked up and down the pumpkin patch each looking for the "most perfect" pumpkin. The twins didn't want any help from Brooke. Race just enjoyed being able to run around and pick up anything he wanted. He wanted so many pumpkins, but the Terry rule is - you must be able to carry the pumpkin you choose. Mine was real large. I did learn that if you go on the last day the selection is still good and all the pumpkins, no matter what size, is $1.00.

After dinner we carved the "most perfect" pumpkins into the "most perfect" jack-o-lanterns.
Race went to bed so I carved his.
I remember now why my kids have never carved pumpkins before. Chloe didn't like the feel of the inside and took out maybe two pumpkin seeds. I did hers as well. :)

Trick-or-Treating
Phoebe and Chloe came up with our theme this year. They wanted to be Little Red Riding Hood, and Brooke agreed to be the grandma and it was easy for Race. He was the wolf. After a bit of sewing and figuring out how to do Race's outfit they all turned out great! They were happy with them and I was happy to get them done. One more year of costumes done.

Arizona Trip
Oct. 6-14, 2007

We had so much fun with the Bristows in Arizona. Here are just some highlights from the trip.

Feeding 7 kids at each meal. We filled up the table and the bar and Angie and I still were left standing at the bar. Here is Phoebe, Dean, Kate & Race having dinner on Saturday night.

Swimming at the hotel pool was fun. All the kids loved the hot tub the best.

We spent a morning at the Children's Museum of Art. The exhibit was on toys. They had all types of toys through the ages to look at. The kids like the ones they could play with. This picture is of a "pinewood" derby style of cars racing. They had twister, build your own robot, building with blocks, making your own game board, and making spinners. They also had a room for children 4 and under and their siblings. This was a great room for all the kids to play!

The girly girls are taking time out at the zoo to rest in the shade on a rock at the Zoo. You can see Ron, Race and the bottom of a giraffe in the background.

Ron and Mike giving Kate and Race a little shower in the misters.

Mike taught Ron how to hunt and kill Arizona scorpions.
It takes a black light, a small torch and a dark sky and a little bit of patience.
Apparently the scorpions glow neon green in the black light. Who knew??

We also went to the Arizona Natural History Museum. They had dinosaurs, and a real alligator and snapping turtle. They had an exhibit on Indians of Arizona, Arizona's film history and in the back courtyard they had panning for gold for the kids. They enjoyed all of the above but loved panning for gold. Chloe came away soaked - but they all had their bag of gold - well pyrite.

These are just a few pictures from our trip. We went shopping, out to eat, to the park, the Science Center and hung out at the hotel and at the Bristow's. It was a great vacation!
The twins learned that cactus does hurt - Mommy was telling the truth, :)

HAWAII!
It was warm and so much fun.
Next time I don't think we will take Race. :)

Race hanging out in his stroller at the Beach. Wow this stoller has been everywhere.

Ron at the Lanai Lookout. The ocean was so blue. We took a drive around the island.
It was a great day for it.

We stopped at the Hawaii Temple Visitor Center.

Race checking out the ocean for the first time.
He didn't like it. He kept pulling his feet up.

Race showing off his fish that he got from the village of Tonga at the PCC.
It is woven out of leaves. He loved playing with it.

Ron and Race at the Arizona Memorial. The battleship Missori is in the background.

Angela & Race with the Arizona Memorial in the background.

The view from our hotel balcony.
The pool was way cold, the ocean was warmer.

Ron getting blown away at the Pali Lookout.
The lighthouse at Makapuu Point.
That is a great hike if you are ever there. Great views!

Our Trip To NYC in October
We took a lot of video as well. I didn't get any pictures of Time Square.
I thought I did, but it is all on the video camera.
Race in his stroller at the Today Show. I took him out and held him most of the time. He got a lot of attention. He was the youngest one there. Race was in his stroller a lot this trip.

Al Roker doing the weather at the Today Show. After the show Al came over and shook Race's hand and talked to me a bit about him. Everyone thought he was so cute!

Race is enjoying the music of the Merry-Go-Round in Central Park, while Molly and Sandra take a ride on it. Amy, Amelia and I sat and watched them go around and around.

Central Park "Board Walk" This is the only straight path in Central Park. Down the way is a Hot Dog vendor, where I got a hot dog and ate it in Central Park. We also sat and listened to a great jazz quartet. Where the trees end in the back ground is the big fountain.
Race hanging out at the fountain that is at north end of the "Board Walk" in Central Park.

Molly & Sandra watching toy sailboats. This pond is where we had a run-in with the police and they told us to get off the grass because the were chasing a suspect. We moved quite quickly.

This is the Alice in Wonderland sculpture. Molly & Sandra are the kids in the red.
Race was scream at this time in the stroller.

Belvadere Castle in Central Park. It always looks much larger on TV.
It is actully quite small.

Central Park, overlooking the Turtle Pond with the Upper East Side in the distance.

Grandpa is all smiles. He loves camping.
As long as he is warm.

Mom and Nancy staying warm in the Uintas. What is an Osborn Family campout with rain?

It wouldn't be a camput if Wendy wasn't holding one of our kids. This time it is Race.

Drew wonders why Melissa is striking a pose, and Jared just thinks, "Girls, go figure"

Getting warm around the fire is even better when your have cousins.
